Question for the Pros! ?

Hi all. I got a question for the pros. I recently bought a new system which includes:
Front Sound Stage (RP8000F's - RP504C (Center) SVS PB3000 (1sub) | - RP600M's (surround/r surround) - SVS Prime Elevation (rear height/Atmos) and a Denon 4700H.
My question is should I use the RP600M's as Rear Surround or Just Surround on the inputs on the Denon?

I don't really have any space behind my seating area but I do have them slightly set behind and angled toward my 2 theater seats (pics attached). I definitely don't have a room set up to accommodate side surrounds but could potentially add front Atmos in the future. RP600m's may be overkill for how I am using them but I got a great deal on them and couldn't pass them up. I know my system has a long way to go as I'm just trying to learn everything on the Denon and so far it's been challenging for sure. Your feedback is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

My recommendation is to set up as a 5.x.x system, so Surround, not Rear.

Rears do get more programming now than they used to, but you can't really have a good sound field by eliminating the Surrounds.

Keep in mind, placement in most homes is never ideal, and we have to work with what we have; do what we can.

One other tip... since that back wall is so tight up on you, I would adjust the Elevations to either fire down at your position, or set them up as Front Height rather than Rear Height. Or, mount them to the sides and assign them as Top Front or Top Middle. I think this will give you a more believable Atmos effect and help create that Bubble Of Sound.

The speakers to the sides on stands seem misplaced to me. I'd want them a little further from the seats and aimed toward the lp. Completely agree with Ryan on the Prime Elevation speakers. The rear ones aren't doing much where you have them now. I don't think your room will work very well with a 7.*.* and would just eliminate trying rear speakers. Just stick with a 5.*.* setup and move those Elevation speakers into top middle or front height channels.
