I’m Not sure how to tell if a used amp works well ?
Is this a good model ? Really just want something in an use digital optical output on .

It's great I used to have one. It doesn't do DD+ Just DD. I think it's 5.1. It would make a good starter AVR. Offer $50. I see them on CL once in a while. Go to your local Thrift store and check there. Check a couple of goodwill stores.

I got tired of cHecking local thrifts never had any luck but I could start check every few weeks maybe . No one donates good audio gear by me just junk .
Was wasting lots of gas lol [emoji23]

A guy picked up a Sony 4K 5.1 receiver for $79 at my Thrift store. Better to go early when they open.

I'd get the Onkyo since it already has speakers. Listen to it and ask if any problems with hdmi before you go. You can manually set it up or buy the mic on ebay. Make sure to keep a fan on top of any AVR you get.

There’s no sub in picture and it doesn’t have active out. I’d have to ask were sub is and included or not?

The HK247 was a strong selling model, but is now >11 years old..
So audio and video technology has marched on..
Unit has excellent amplifiers and a wide range of inputs and outputs..

$50 seems like a lot for a used one , how do I know the bass still works ? My old Yamaha I got used has no bass
It does come with 4 tiny hk satellites, so maybe it’s a safe buy ?? Do I need to ask to listen to it first or just wait til I see a better deal ?

Should I keep looking? Til something better comes out for sale ??
