Driving Vintage Bose Acoutimass speakers

I have four sets of speakers for an old Bose system but not the base unit or the back speaker. I want to know how to drive those speakers wirelessly through my LG smart TV. Could I use a Denon Bluetooth receiver (like AVR S510BT) for example to power them? I understand the cube speakers are not autonomous (active speakers) so I would need the Acoustimass base and amplifier to drive them, is that correct? Is there any creative work-arounds?

No, Bose stuff, is highly proprietary. You need to get something else.

Would have been helpful to know which Bose system they are from, but it might work if the stars are in alignment.

To wit:
  • The LG TV has to be a Bluetooth transmitter. It if receives only, it will require an outboard transmitter connected to an output from the TV.
  • The Denon must be a Bluetooth receiver, meaning it receives Bluetooth not transmits.
  • The speakers have means to be connected to the Denon’s speaker terminals, and are not so low an impedance that they shut the Denon down.

Didn’t the acustomass power the satellites itself ?? I’m not sure it’s probably worth using them with a receiver .
How do they sound using acustomass and Satellites Hooked up ?
These are cheap https://www.monoprice.com/product?p_id=39358

The x-over is in the bass module. It won't work well without that. You can cross them around 200 or so and you will get sound, but the x-over was sort of tuned specifically for them.

I would sell em and just use some nice book shelf speakers. They would sound much better and be compatible with any AVR.

Yeah if you just treat the sats as passive speakers then usually the problem more is about their typically very high f3 and use with a typical sub/crossover. They're just really not worth it....sell the Bose to someone who thinks they're great and then get something far better for far less...
