Center channel help

Long story short I went with in wall bowers and Wilkins cwm7.4 s2 in walls in living room. The fireplace is stone and I ain’t cutting in that after how much we paid for it. Is there a slim center that I could mount under the mantle? I think KEF and Martin make one, but holy smokes if I could get one with a paintable grill...any feedback is appreciated

I think you may be out of luck. You can get the KEFs in white at least...

Still, I would likely have matched up all the speakers all the way around, and I might consider just building a back box for the B&Ws if you've already made the purchase and have the rest installed.

I would stick with B&W center channel.

Your problem is you made the Rookie mistake of putting a screen above a fireplace. This should never be done. The screen s too high, and the screen gets too much heat, so it will give trouble. Next it makes using a center next to impossible. So the TV over the fireplace is what you need to change and fix your walls.

I know it is nice to enjoy TV, by the fire, but this is how you do it.

That is a 3.1 system with everything in wall including the sub.

I don't understand your question. What do you want to build a box for? In other words, what is that?

i see where you’re coming from, but I considered...
1. The opposite wall is an interior wall, and I feared sound bleed especially with in walls into the adjacent room
2. The living room itself is rectangle and I had to take seating and traffic flow into account
3. The front door is perpendicular to the interior wall and I’d rather not have the tv seen through the front door glass

I want to fashion a slim back box for a b&w 7.4 s2 for center channel use that I can mount either underneath the mantel or above the tv

Without having one to measure, I can't tell you. I would have to have one to measure the Thiel/Small parameters of the woofers.

There are a couple of ways to mitigate this issue. 1: Move the TV to another location. 2: Use a ceiling installed center channel. 3: Go with a Triad center channel soundbar. Triad will paint the speaker any color you like for free. They will even make a center channel soundbar without the left and right channels and you can customize the length as well.
