Ok thanks will definetily look into where I source my products to find the cheapest buys
However, I've also been doing some thinking about what my priorities are, as well as what "flaws" I can live with, so I can optimize my buys within my budget.
Below my wishes listed according to priority
1) Decent audio system for my turntable
2) Being able to stream audio to my audio system wirelessly over wifi
and bluetooth
3) Still have a minimum of wires run through my living room (The misses' "only request"..)
4) Being able to watch a movie from time to time on my projector.
This last point is clearly my lowest priority. I want a projector mostly because I don't have space for a TV in my appartment. And the screen of the projector can be neatly tucked away against a support beam on the ceiling, which happens to be right in front of my couch. So, yes the 1080p constraint is definitely something I can live with.
Now, if I want a decent audio set-up and I don't want wires running through my living room, the easiest way to do this (I guess?) would be to install one decent full range active speaker, on a shelf under my turn table - which happens to be just above a wall socket.
This speaker should have:
- Amp integrated + Full range sound (no external subwoofer)
- Inputs: Wifi + Bluetooth + Analog line input (RCA, mini jack,..)
- Decent sound and volume
- Ideally be able to be built out to multi room / surround system at a later time when my budget allows for it
- +- max 500€
After some research on internet I came to a short list of products which match (most of) these criteria:
- Teufel one M ~ 480€ (I even found a new one for 400€)
- Denon Home 350 ~ 569€
- Sonos Play five ~ 557€ (Would require external bluetooth receiver)
- Bluesound pulse mini 2i
Since they all check off my requirements, my first reaction would be to go be to go with the Teufel one M as it is significantly cheaper. (I'm not very experienced to rate sound quality of speakers based on technical specs..)
And now, for my questions:
- How do you think above speakers compare? Especially sound quality feedback is welcome
- Does my list miss any product alternatives that I should definitely look into?
- Finally: One last alternative with somewhat more wires (and convincing of the misses) would be a small stereo set-up (e.g. 2 x Denon home 150 or 2 x Teufel one S). Would you prefer this over 1 full range speaker and if so, why?
Thanks again for your feedback!
