Replacing Sony with Marantz?

My 20 year old Sony TA-E9000ES Pre-Pro emitted three or four pops yesterday and has been silent since. LED and power on illumination but no sound from any input. I pulled the unit out of the rack and I am now enjoying music from CD/SACD, Network, usb B, optical, coax, and usb thumb drive via my OPPO-205 connected to a Sony TA-P9000ES 5.1 Analog Preamplifier. What I cannot enjoy is my turntable, unless I want to listen without bass management, since the OPPO has no analog input, and I have no means to record/play to cassette or to DAT. This makes me think about buying a new Marantz A/V7705, although it appears I will still have no means to record or play cassettes or DATs. Thing is, I could get the job done with a stereo preamp if I could fine one with analog record out and bass management but so far no luck on that. In fact, to record and have bass management it looks like might need to repair the TA-E, buy another on eBay, or get a stereo preamp from the late 80's, like a Sony TA-E80ES but those are very rare and expensive. The one I saw today on eBay was over $2100. Any ideas on it all?

Sterling the Parasound P6 and or P5 have all requirements you need. You can pick up the P5 pretty reasonably ever since the P6 came out. Best thing about them is the bass management. They also have bass and treble controls if you need that.

Looking at this product it appears I could manage bass, and output left and right channels plus bass to the front and sub channels of my 5.1 analog preamp's pass through inputs to power amp. This makes a lot of sense, since I can enjoy all 5.1 media via the OPPO. Only thing I will miss is ATMOS.

You are correct. The bass management is really nice, plus having balanced and unbalanced connections is a plus.
I am currently using the balanced and unbalanced connections to run 3 subs.
Let me know what you end up going with.

I would definitely get a new Pre-pro with Atmos - Yamaha CX-A5200, Marantz AV8805, Marantz AV7706, Anthem AVM60.

The Marantz A/V 7705 looks good but it appears the Parasound P6 might be more useful, since I want to record and I want bass management for 2 channel entities. I now use my OPPO for movies. I play it into my 5.1 analog preamp.
