Purifi Audio Eval1 Kit

Has anyone here built a Purifi Audio 1ET400A02 EVAL1 kit?

I sent the company an email asking if I could buy the Eigentakt sample that has been reviewed in many spots on the internet. They indicated they are no longer offering the amp in complete form and said I should look here:

I found a case advertised here:

And I would need a Hypex SMPS1200 power supply

Plus, the Purifi Audio 1ET400A02 kit

OR there are several places that will sell the units assembled.

Has anybody looked at these options and come up with a good plan for bringing a Purifi amp into their setup? Thank you!

I looked at them... chose to go with the Hypex NC400s as they measure pretty closely and have a higher gain. The Purifis looked to really require an input buffer/op amp and I just don't have the knowledge base to comfortably understand that. The Hypex Modules are pretty straight ahead.

I looked at Ghent but couldn't find confirmation about whether the Chinese Aluminum Chassis would incur any tariffs. One source I looked at mentioned a possibility to be as high as 80%! I haven't pursued any further due to other things getting in my way. Soon, though! :)

For the Amplifier modules, if you order those as components, they should be duty-free. At least, mine were from Hypex.

I can remember perhaps a couple ways to go with tariff classification of such but would need more information about the chassis construction/uses. Might be a definitive ruling somewhere, too.

@lovinthehd I was planning on hitting you up about this... ;)
Any assistance/guidance would be appreciated.
Ghent said they use the code 76169999000, shipping from China to US..

7616.99 (only first six digits are international, US citation looks to be 7616.99.51 then final two digits depending on construction) refers to other articles of aluminum and the "ginese" tariff drumphy has placed is 25% under corresponding HTSUS 9903.88.03 (but there are a long list of excepted headings that I haven't reviewed). That's kind of what I expected the basic tariff declaration to be but will dig around and see if their might be something specific for such, but somewhat doubt it.

ps Looked at parts of amplifiers (if they're specific enough to be considered such....another possibility is specific cases for goods of various sorts) and they're referred to the same supplemental tariff HTSUS 9903.88.03 at 25%. Not sure where 80% would be coming from....

So with the possible China tariff you think it might be safer to buy from a US reseller that's already put them together? Less surprise possibility?

;) Depends on wher your value lies... and sense of adventure.

I'm also going to reach out to the DIY Audio Store about their Italian Chassis... perhaps do a single chassis for 5 Monoblock Amps!

FWIW, Lovin's reply that it may only be a 25% tariff is a lot better than 80%! We'll see.

Meant to add... the Nord and Apollon amps with the Purifi modules all come out looking very similar, including their addition of the Input Buffer and choice of OP Amps included.
I haven't delved into the world of US-Built versions. Again, the NC400s are very simple to implement, and the main thing I need to determine is how deep I want to dive into adding on: triggers or music sense or volt meters... Of course part of me wants to go bonkers, but part of me wants a nice simple build.
