Need additional cooling for AVR?

I'm trying to decide if I should get/need a fan for my Marantz 6014. The receiver has pretty good natural ventilation. It is on the bottom shelf of a unit with approximately 6 1/2-7 inches of clearance above, a reasonable amount of space behind and fairly open on both sides. It can get warm to the touch after use (I don't typically listen at extremely high volumes), but not really "hot" - certainly not so much that I can't leave my hand on it.

I have seen recommendations here for people to get fans for Denon/Marantz units, but is it really needed in my situation? I generally prefer not to add additional noise, more wires, etc.

Maybe wait until spring/summer and see how things are with warmer air temperatures if you think you are good atm.
Is it slightly uncomfortable to leave you hand on it or just pleasantly warm?

It depends on what I am watching/listening to and for how long. At worst I would say maybe slightly uncomfortable, but probably usually somewhere in between.

Doesn't sound to me like you need outboard cooling.

That would be my first choice, albeit a more pricey one.

I use some coolerguys.com fans, the noisier one out in the workshop, the quieter one in my living room (a dual fan speed controlled set, set to the lowest speed). Less pricey but not as nice looking as Aircoms (but coolerguys have some nice low profile models that blow out to the rear to help out with the limited space above each of those avrs I use them on).

No. I guess I was looking at the larger, more expensive ones.
