Well I’m biased so it’s fair to disregard my post. But that Yamaha needs the wart cut off its face. Wtf...

Port Hole or Cyclops? Wow, we're really going there? Oh... the receivers! Ok. Well, Cyclops can be had for $399.99(TSR-700) so that makes up for a lot. The ugly ones can always be had on the cheap.;)

I’ve been using Yamaha AVRs for 25 years, but if this is what’s available when I make an upgrade, I’ll be looking for a new brand. I’m not having anything that ugly in my system. Don’t know what in blue blazes they were thinking.

All I can say is, I'm glad I'm not in the market for an AVR right now. I was never a fan of the port hole look. And those new Yamahas? smh.. It's just my opinion of course...but I still love looking at my 3060. And oh yeah, love listening to it too!

I’m sticking with my Yamaha 2060 for as many good years as I can get. They may change the looks again by then. :)

I wonder if the Yamaha 5200 replacement will be a cyclops? LOL :)

That's an interesting question. Way back when I was looking for an AVR , marantz had just changed to the port hole look and I swore I'd never buy one. I was hoping they would go in another direction eventually. But actually the 5200 would be the next logical move for me. But with perfect 4K and HDR pass through, high resolution music. Pandora, Spotify, and satellite, that sounds terrific, and DSU that HAS center spread. I'm good. Which brings me to another question, does the 5200 have center spread?

Imagine my surprise when I found that the Cyclops(RX-V6A/TSR-700) had center spread. Kinda’ ironic really since historically that is more of a port hole feature.

If the cyclops has center spread the 5200 should be safe. It probably says in the manual on the Yamaha website.

Yes page 128 of the Yamaha 5200 manual shows you can turn center spread on and off. :)
