Monolith by Monoprice out of stock, what are my options

Me too! Reality is, I am not aware of any site that has bench tested so many AV preamp/processors and AVRs in the past 2 years. People who believe and rely on objective reviews benefit a lot from that site, while of course, those on the subjective (go by ears/eyes) group may not be happy to see their more expensive, so called separate components often don't measure as good, despite the claims made in their marketing material.

Congrats by the way, to your success in securing the popular Monolith amp. Not my choice, but many people's for sure.., and it is a very value, with very low $/clean watt.

The only detailed bench test review of the Monolith I have seen is Gene's.

The stats he reported are excellent. Since then Monoprice added balanced connectors. I also like that they offer a 30 day money back guarantee from delivery and a 5 year replacement warranty. The 7x200 is a value play at $271 per channel with tax and delivery. Even less if your state is state tax free.

Supposedly these amps are built at ATI facilities. The ATI version is almost twice as much so hard to know what differences are in play. However, both models have the same 93lb weight.

Compare the ATI AT4000 specs to the Monolith specs. Amazingly close. The design of the chassis top, overall size, damping factor all the same. It's hard to find a spec between the ATI AT4007 and the Monolith 7X that are not listed as the same. But the speaker terminals on the AT4007 are gold (higher quality) so there will be some difference. It would be interesting to see these two amps in an AB test.

I know, it is a personal thing that I no longer like heavy amps, also don't like anything more than 3 channels. As an EE, I guess I was trained to and biased to not prefer things that are not practically useful and or efficient. Again that's just me..

If I was willing to open the wallet I might go with three Benchmark AHB2's.

Glad you chose the Monolith in the end despite the weight. There are always pros and cons, imo the Monolith's pros outweigh the cons, relative to the XPA-7 gen 3.

That looks just like the Outlaw 7700. At least I’ve seen the 7500 and looks the same as that unit. Obviously they make both
