Onkyo TX-RZ820 might go with a newer version of it. $449-$499
HSU 5.1 Package of..... VTF-2MK5 sub
4- HB-1 MK2 (Might go with the 3.1 package $1019)
1- HC-1 MK2 All together..........$1299
Having that in mind I read that some people may choose to get 3 of the Centers and use 2 as L/R. Any thoughts ? It would only be a little more $.
Thank you !

You can do that with the HC-1, in fact I have. But keep in mind there are rails at the bottom of the HC-1 for its base that would look a little strange when used on its side. If that slightly odd appearance doesn't bother you, you can use the HC-1 speakers as vertical MTMs just fine. One thing you will want to do if you choose to do that is unscrew the horn of the HC-1 and rotate it 90 degrees. Since it is bisymmetrical, it is easy to do and only takes 5 minutes, but the way the horn is mounted is intended for good dispersion in a plane perpendicular to the way you would use it if you set it on its side.

That’s cool klipsch does not allow you to angle or flip around the horns .
How good is this speaker brand aren’t they more know for subs? Make good speakers vs say emotiva?
Like to see the system when op gets it sounds epic

I don't have any to compare to other than some old 1990s CV Re-30s. I just bought 3 of the CCB-8s for my LCR (and a VTF-3 sub). They are awesome. I love them for my home theater. We have a seat that is 90 degrees to the main couch and only sits 4-5 feet from the left speaker. The sounds still comes from the center of the room and not from the speaker directly in front of you. I love it! I don't listen to much music but have been starting to more.
I also need to experiment more with plugging some of the ports and changing the YPAO eq to see what I like best but I haven't had time with working from home and have 3 children here, too.

There is no need to rotate the horn on any Klipsch speaker since their tractric horn is a bi-symmetric 90 degrees X 90 degrees horn. It acts the same on a vertical and horizontal plane.
Hsu makes some good speakers. They would be a bit different then the Emotiva speakers. The Emotiva speakers would have a much wider dispersion on account of their AMT tweeters. Hsu have a much more controlled dispersion. Angling the Hsu speakers will have a much greater affect on the sound then the Emotiva speakers. My guess is that the Emotiva speakers will give you a wider soundstage, but the Hsu speakers will give you a more precise soundstage.

Oh, cool ! Thank you ! I'm going to call and ask HSU if they'll modify one of their packages to meet my idea.

I did call HSU. Kevin filled me in. I can order whatever I like and alter a package. 30 days to return, exchange, etc..
Wondering..... How might a pair of 3 way hi-fi speakers as L/R effect a H/T set up ? Say if I watch movies then switch to music does the receiver switch to L/R and sub or do I choose what speakers I'd like ? Thank you !

If you have a separate pair of speakers that you would like to use for music listening, you can just run those on the B-channels on your AVR. Then you can switch between the surround sound systems and two channel system with just a push of a button. However, if these alternate speakers are for the same room and sale listening position, the best thing to so is get one set of speakers that does everything well and just use those. The only way it makes sense to run two different speaker sets for one room is if the speakers had drastically different acoustic properties that make them sound very unalike, and maybe you prefer one pair for a certain style of music or content and the other speakers for other stuff. But in my opinion, its not worth doing unless the speakers had radically different dispersion profiles.

Say did you ever end up order the HB-1/HC-1s? If so what do you think?

Yah Covid has effected the whole supply chain in a negative way.
