My old NAD integrated is starting to show signs of its age, so I watch Craigslist to see if something comes up that may be a viable replacement. I see an 80’s vintage Luxman L114 for $60 advertised as good working condition. I figure it should be engineered good enough to be worth a $60 risk. I message the seller and say if it’s still available I’ll come get it right now. An hour later I get a response, “yes it’s available”. That’s it, no phone number, location or anything, just “it’s available”.

I kinda want it but my superpowers of deduction at lacking at this time. There’s also a Marantz PM-25 for $160, I think it may be a better option.

I see some doozies in just the ads sometimes, that mind reading skill could help out there, too...

Be careful Grasshopper.

My bat senses smell bull$hit. The price for the Luxman, no matter how old it is, is too good to be true. Prices for vintage gear lately (the last 2 years) is just crazy, re-capped or not. Find it hard to believe he didn't do any research before selling it. Tread softly.
