shopping for a new AVR . Seems to be a choice between Marantz 7015 Yamaha rx a3080 anthem mix 720 7 ch.
I was looking at cheaper anthem my guy said it wasn't available anymore wanted me to move up to the 720. The question is there anthem worth the extra money. i have B&w cm8 fronts need a new center and choosing between svs sb200 and a jl dominion d108 sub. any thoughts are appreciated

FWIW just saw this review of the 7015 https://www.audiosciencereview.com/forum/index.php?threads/marantz-sr7015-8k-avr-review.16462/#post-533446....

Personally I'd look at Denon avrs. Availability now is an issue with many brands, tho.

Doesn't B&W have a matching center if not just using another CM8?

Can't imagine spending $1k on an 8 inch sub (well I can't imagine buying an 8" sub either, tho). Why sealed particularly? If a smaller box is desired, how about something like the Hsu ULS-15 instead ? Or just go with a ported sub?

Call SVS they will recommend the proper sub based on your room dimensions and total volume including openings to other rooms

Will Anthem sound better than anything else? No.

It’s really about economies of scale - the more units a company can sell, the lower they can offer the price.

The fewer units they sell, the higher the prices.

Of course, when anyone says something sounds better, it’s just their opinions.

If something has a higher price tag, some people will automatically think it must sound better. It’s like this with just about everything in life.

But we know that price doesn’t always equal to better things.

In addition to sound quality, there are other factors like reliability, HDMI compatibility, service support, etc.

Maybe the OP can clarify on just what he needs/expects out of the avr....and perhaps what he's currently using.

Also curious about usage. The sb2000 is a great “little” sub but is not capable of huge dynamics. If this room is big, or OP is looking for something to carry the weight of an orchestra, or Godzilla.
No. Won’t happen.
The JL too. Not even a subwoofer imo. Probably be nice for a little office space but that’s it. Especially for the 1k or 1.2k list price. Could have a couple sb2k’s for that. Or three rsl speedwoofers, which aren’t output monsters either, but three would make a very nice bottom end down to 20hz, and in many rooms be plenty. Of course in the 1k-1.5k range(where it seems OP could be comfortable in spending) the options really open up n
