Can I mix satellite speakers with towers?

Hi,
I have recently upgraded my system to RP 8000F and 504C from klipsch but I'm using satellite speakers from my old system as surround? Will that hold back my system? Is there any setup that can optimize it until I upgrade them?

Can I use any of the other satellites for atmos?

surround speakers are mostly for effects, it's ok to mix and match these. Only LCR should match very closely

For movies/tv I wouldn't worry about it so much, for multich music I do prefer more a match to the LRC speakers. Not sure what you mean by "holding back" particularly, tho.

Thank you guys.
I have a Yamaha receiver and I thought that once the calibration is done, it will have to take into consideration the small speakers and hence limiting the towers
