Hi all,
I've found a Yamaha ns-sw700 subwoofer for a great price, upgrading from my little sony subs, I just want to hear any feedback from anyone who owns, or has owned one of these, thoughts, opinions ?

Thanks

It’s a 10” sub. So it will produce decent bass for most typical size rooms.

It’s not a Godzilla-sub. Won’t win any prizes. Won’t “destroy” anything. But it will work fine for most people.

10" Ported sub with 150W (300 Peak) - probably ok for a smaller room. I'd look elsewhere.

I suspected as much, makes quite a bit of difference to what choices you'd have here in the US as well as pricing (250 AUD is about 180 USD). Like others have said about this sub's performance capabilities, it's probably a decent sub as long as you don't expect too much of it.

Yeah cool, thankyou, we have only a relatively small space, its going with another 10in sub too, I was looking at it as an upgrade to one of my Sony subs, I'm running a 7.2 system, everything else is yamaha, and yeah, I've seen a few stores based in the US with some great pricing

Normally Yamaha subs aren't even considered much around here since we have a variety of internet direct specialists to choose from that don't operate down under, let alone what some retailers offer in more traditional brands....but should be better than a Sony sub. Might even consider not using the Sony at first....
