While there are differences between the two units specs wise I’m looking for opinions on ease of use, satisfaction with their performance, reliability and customer support as well as anything else you might think is relevant to making a decision between the two.

I recently sold my $5,500 Denon AVR-5308CI and replaced it with the RX-A3080. This is for my living room 2CH system (RBH SVT towers in Full-range mode, speakers set to Large, no Subwoofers).

So I would take the RX-A3080 in a heartbeat.

But someone else could say the opposite (like I would say 2 years ago). :D

Without knowing anything else, I'd take the Yamaha. That's presuming that it measures like the CX preamp.

The Yamaha is #1 for reliability and the only brand AVRs that are HDMI/HDCP certified...

Just my $0.02... ;)

I'd think the Denon 6700 would be a closer match to the 3080, the 7200 is getting a bit long in the tooth so to speak. More about the feature set you want, personally would have a hard time with Yamaha terminology having used other brands up til now and Yamaha have somewhat their own terms. I think I'd rather have AudysseyXT32 than YPAO as well, but the PEQ in the Yamaha is otoh attractive.
