I need a amp to drive the SVS Prime elevation speakers and for surround and at-mos and front 3 speakers off a different brand.
This is a very large room and is why I need a amp and SVS seem to do better with a amp.
Amazon has the Outlaw 7 channel amp for less than half the cost of the Emotiva 7 channel amp but not familiar with outlaw Audio reliability or quality,
I do not have a dedicated 10-20 amp line to hook this up too

What amp was it then with what warranty?
All of Monoprice Monolith amps are built by ATI in the USA all carry a 5-year warranty.
@noclue mostly likely bough another Monoprice amp

Yeah he said no to the Monolith question. Just sort of a strange interjection of "fact" with barely any to go on.

I have no insight on the particular amp you are talking about, but as a general rule, I would consider Outlaw amps more reliable than Emotiva (or maybe I should say that I expect Outlaw to do a better job of standing behind their amp if anything goes bad with it)!

MY first and only amp I have was a 5 channel one from Mono-price or the Monolith one.
I thought i had electrical problems My AVR's have not lasted as long as they use to.

Got A electrician come to the house and waiting on a quote to check my panel out. came yesterday still waiting on a quote, also asked to see what a dedicated 20 amp outlet would cost but have a felling it will be to much.

I found a refurbished Denon 4500h for a real good price and got it but hooked it up last night,

Tried the AMP on all five channel for surround sound and all of the sudden I could hear the Prime elevations as long as i was on Disney Plus or something other than over the air TV..
Was able to hear the surround speakers with the old cheap speakers i have.

So the old AVR was the Main Problem.
Will get some fans for the AVR and the amp, Maybe that will help it to last longer. that and the work the do on the electrical panel.
Will also look at may picking up some Ascend Acoustics for the surrounds and move the prime elevations to the At-mos position that would be cheaper to do than buying another amp and will be able to hear the surround on normal TV broadcast.
I do not watch a lot of over the air TV but I am just anal about getting thins to work like the should.

Did you re-check the setup of the old AVR to see if the speaker levels were too low or if the wrong mode was used? Maybe someone pressed the Direct, Mode or Stereo button?

The Outlaw amp would be great. I own the Outlaw 5000 and its a beast. Provides plenty of juice to power my front three that are 4ohm. I leave the surrounds in my AVR.

You can't go wrong if you go with the Outlaw amp.

Are you sure that indicates output mode, rather than input from the source? I think I would check the speaker setup again- I have seen the Dolby light on without all speakers being enabled. Do you see the speaker icons, too? You might be able to scroll through the modes, too.

I know with my Marantz SR6014 I need to select Dolby + Surround for all to take affect with regular TV and sometimes depending on the channel find it sounds better using the Multi Channel mode.

I'm also trying to decide which amp to purchase (first amp). From doing a bit of research on this forum it seems that the top 3 most common manufactures are Outlaw, Monoprice, and Emotiva. I'm leaning towards Monolith 7x or 9x. My current setup is below:

7.2.2
  • Klipsch RP-8000F
  • Klipsch RP-504C
  • Klipsch R-51M
  • Klipsch R-120SW
  • Polk RC80i (VOG) debating if I should replace with CDT-5800-C II
  • SVS PB16-Ultra (the wife only agreed to get one...for now ;) )
  • Denon AVR-X4500H
Room dimensions: 20’length x 13’width x 8.5’ height, seating position 12ft
Thanks in advance for any advice!
