Onkyo TX - NR609 | HDMI issues

Hello All,

i am trying to connect my airtel HD satellite receiver through any of the Onkyo HDMI inputs and NO SIGNAL with blue screen appears (before inserting the cable All Ch Stereo shows) but the Onkyo shows the airtel name on the blue screen. the same cable works direct to the TV hdmi input.

please help me.

Is this a new sat receiver to you or was working previously with other gear? That it (the Onkyo) knows the name of the device is a bit odd....usually just the input name shows. Any other hdmi devices to test the various inputs with? Check your video output settings in your sat receiver?

thanks for your reply. previously it was connect to the tv direct with resolution 2160p output. i connected my pc desktop in all ports, it works. but when i try to connect the laptop, same issue no signal

It is pretty obvious that, that Airtel satellite box does not support HDMI repeater architecture. You see a TV is an end device and only requires one initial handshake from the sending device. A receiver is a receiving and sending device and is required to have repeated handshakes. This is repeater architecture. Obviously your box does not support that.

From a quick Internet search is seems those Airtel boxes are Junk. Yes, Junk with a capital J. They are awash with complaints.

Did you change the resolution in the sat box before connecting it to the Onkyo?
