Polk fan bois can be bad. As to the downfiring sub, it matters little, just using a sub has the potential of bothering your neighbors....below, to the sides, above....they're omni radiators mostly.

LMAO! Do it! yeah Do it! lolo really I feel you, I had a dude that lived about me I’d hear him just about every night banging his ole lady. So my ceiling was his dance floor to his happiness. So one night they where going at it umm like 11 pm or so, I slapped on some ole Barry White, lolo cranked up my lil 10” sub cranked up the volume to about 12 O’clock on the dial. So this went on for about a month, one day I get at knock on my door asking if i could turn down my tv or what ever i had I said sure but could you turn down the your banging of your ole lady. Dude goes walls are thin I go guess than what we have here is a Failure to communicate dude just walked off.

This stories are common in apartments. Thats a good story. Some others end by fighting, police, smashed heads etc not just for noice but for millions of reasons like cat poo smell, barking dogs (high pitch noice worse than subwoofer) and plenty of other stuff.

i used to had a crazy friend with monstrus tower speakers, he was leaving them open, at huge volume (live concert levels)and go to job for revenge. also he was puting bad music like death metal. No kiddin
People became paranoid they came to his door to fight..it ended with police station.

man oh man!! LMAO!! You guys do know that we get a lot of Visitors that just hang out in here and never post up. Case in point I was just hanging out over at Polk Audio’s Club house, now over there that site is Heavily Moded, meaning you say or put anything other than Polk speakers you get the hammer or a few old timers over there kind of rule the forum they just Special I guess I call it the Polk Cult Club house, cause the few Special members gang up on newbies and they get them banned. Anyways back to my point of this post. A few from Polks forum do come in here just to be Nosy I guess and they go back and report to the other old timers what they found out in here. They don’t think to highly of Genes forum or AH members they even started a thread on our leader Gene, about his go fund me page. The one member that they did Single out was TLSGUY about his speaker knowledge not knowing what he’s talking about, so me being me, I jumped in opened a account just so I could rhetorical with them. Needless to say they didn’t like me much after I told a few that Polk wouldn’t like them Bashing other’s but I said it in a not so nice way .

Nice job mike! I’ve often thought of joining there just to rattle their cages. I know I wouldn’t last long as I can sometimes forget my nice guy words. Lol.

Bass doesn't work that way. It's omnidirectional. You're going to have the same amount of sound leaking through to your downstairs neighbor whether your sub if forward firing or down firing.

Really didn’t think anyone would take my post Serious. I was poking fun at laying the speaker down on the floor. Even a 3rd grader knows there isn’t any Oxygen “ air” in outer space. But I did learn something from KEW, that the driver cone would be sucked out.

Just needling ya in the same way....I just proposed a possible basis for such Sound doesn't travel at the speed of light either.... Does make me wonder how sound travels in different gas compositions....humidity can change it so wonder about some new audiophoolery where we inject small amounts of various inert gases to "tune" a room

@William Lemmerhirt, just read your post from yesterday. Sorry about that brother, I gotta bad habit of jumping in on Threads at the middle or the last page it gets me in trouble sometimes. But yeah I use to be a member way back over on that forum years ago I left for the same reason I posted up about what was said about “Doc” TLS guy, It really pissed me off, Doc is a awesome member here on AH I enjoy reading his Threads and post. I’ve learned a lot from his speaker builds also what to look for when Researching speakers and drivers. I’ve never met Doc in person but from getting to know the person he is just on here with him posting up his new home build and sharing personal photos of his home and his HT room. The one photo that sticks out for me of Doc, is the one with him standing in snow with his walking cane black hat on his head and that long black cost down to his ankle.
Just reminded me of one of those’s dudes in that movie Tombstone. They are full of it over there, they got a woman banned over there just cause she called out their “leader of the pack” for his Bullying and Belittling of other members.
