It wasn't clear what your intent was....
You are very right. I have a problem sometimes receiving and pass information. It’s my problem, not yours. I think from now on, I need to have some personal homework how to pass information on this wonderful and knowledgeable forum of Audioholics.
Please don’t misunderstand me. I’m a me member and I figured out that I have to learn the rules in this forum because I’m newbie.
My listening distance is equaritilar distance from my listening position.
I appreciate your input
I want to choose the right speaker cable if possible and don’t break the bank.. also I think I must go depending my listening preference. I will try also the Monoprice cable.
Thank you for helping me to understand the forum.
I think you are right and I will apply your advice.
I’m just a lost audiophile and I’m trying to blend on this web site that I strongly believe it helps people.
Stay safe my friend! and thank you for your understanding and patience. :)

Sometimes the smiley faces can help express humor or sarcasm....

Yes, I understand you have setup the equilateral triangle for listening....it just seems very close to the speakers with such short lengths of cable!

If you have a functional speaker cable, there is no need to buy another....just use it.

If two speaker cables are made of OFC and are of the same gauge, they will sound exactly the same. It's no use paying for expensive wire that just brings more profits to the manufacturer and the seller.
As some have aslready stated above, the very affordable Monoprice OFC cable is as good as anything else on the market.

I’ll stick with mediabridge and I’m not gonna post again anything regarding cables... lol thank you for making me understand.

Another thing to add to this topic, if you see a cable that is telling you its directional (other than cosmetics) run and hide your wallet.

I totally agree regarding the Mediabridge cables. I have both Crutchfield and mediabridge speaker cables and the mediabridge are more balancenced, the Crutchfield have more mids and highs and I think they colorize the sound once I crank up the volume.
I would like to try the Monoprice at some point though as I read good things here!!
I think that I will try the Monoprice too. I see them everywhere on the site and they are respected cables.

How about those cables that have the shielding only connected at 1 end?

Those tend to claim directional.

I'm legitimately asking your opinion on these.......

Apologies, for clarification purposes I was referring strictly to speaker cables for this comment.

To provide a response to your specific question I would need to understand the cable, what it’s for and what it will be hooked up to.. IE balanced to unbalanced atleast that’s what I would assume.

I use(d) MediaBridge, BlueJeans , Monoprice and Binary(SnapAV) cables for different applications beteen the 3 installs (HT, LivingRoom, Office)... I'd say all good. Cant go wrong..,BlueJeans and Binary cables a bit more expensive. Dont think you need anything else..

I don’t know what is a directional cable James. I settled down with mediabridge, but I want to try also Monoprice.

The purpose of disconnecting a shielding at one end of an audio cable is to reduce possible noise transfer with mixed balanced and unbalanced connections. As you know, electronic sound is waves which consist of AC current, so there are no directional properties about it. Here is an excellent article on this topic:

The whole thing of "trying" cables is really a waste of time/effort. Concentrate on things that might improve your system instead, or add some content to enjoy it with rather than merely a different brand of wire.....

In particular, I have a 15-20 foot sub woofer (RCA) cable from Monster that has the directional arrow on it. I believe this is for the purposes as outlined in post #34 above.

In this case, we should indeed respect the "cable direction arrow"?

Thanks for your input,

The cables are plai Mediabridge 12gauge. They play pretty good for what I have.
I thank you and the rest of the members for their help you gave me. I’m all set with mediabridge, no need to find something else...oh by the way it’s very balanced speaker cable and inexpensive. Crutchfield was making the sound too bright. The funny think is that I bought the Mediabridge from Crutchfield too!!!

I have also been pretty well pleased with Mediabridge. I don't have a lot of their stuff, but what I have looks to be very well constructed, I bought it from Amazon.

Oh, we know!

Chasing cables is a fool's errand!

I have been pretty happy with Monoprice.

But, to me their RCA cables seem to be a bit on the too tight side. They work fine with some of my gear, but I fear damaging other gear due to the cable being too hard to push on.

I also had some 12AWG OFC wire that started showing surface corrosion after several years. Oddly, I have other AWG from the same brand that I purchased on the same order that did not show the same surface corrosion. So, I'm wondering if something got out of whack on the formulation when the PCV jacket was manufactured......that is the most likely scenario. Also, I doubt that it really did anything detrimental to the signal, it did just seem to be surface corrosion. But, I tossed it in the trash and replaced it "just because".

When I needed OFC most recently, I did give Monoprice a good look, but like I mentioned in a previous post, PE had the better price for what I needed.
