Sadly, I haven’t seen SPECTRE, yet... that will change soon.
Sam Mendes hit
Skyfall out of the park; not so much with his followup,
Spectre. Too much blatant fan nods (Bloefeld's white cat, his Oriental-esque tunic, the fight sequence on a speeding train with a massive henchman, this time played by Dave Bautista, et al) and just didn't have the same appeal as the predecessor (even though the ball was dropped there considerably by turning what could have been an awesome Bond villain as played by the great Javier Bardem into a homosexual character who attempts to come onto 007....really?).
Still, that fist fight between Bautista and Craig still gives me goosebumps when I watch
Spectre -- much like the first Bane/Batman battle in
The Dark Knight Rises. In both films, our heroes have their asses handed to them, finally meeting their physical matches, but the difference is that in
Rises, Batman overcomes his adversary in a later second fight while Bond manages to deal with Bautista's "Mr. Hinx" character in
Spectre at the end of the one and only fight (with a little help from his sexy sidekick in a gorgeous figure-hugging gown; you'll see what I mean when you finally watch the film).
Casino Royale, as it stands, remains the best entry in the Craig-helmed franchise, IMO.
Not complaining about Madonna... just don’t remember it... Just like Sheryl Crow. *shrugs
IIRC, there’s Jack White and Alicia Keyes, Chris Cornell, Adele still to come.
Yeah -- White and Keyes did the "Another Way to Die" track for
Quantum, while Cornell did "You Know My Name" for
Casino Royale and Adele did....well...the
Skyfall title track.
