Is this a subwoofer or something else?

Hi, I live in an apartment block and the wall between me and another neighbour seems to vibrate, also across my floor and up through my bed.

My neighbour is considerate, no loud music, but he said he does use a subwoofer but didn't think it would be that. The vibration feels like a 'whirring', as if something 'starts up' and 'spins.' These are all just feelings, I can't hear anything. Once I had my mattress on the living room floor and the vibration went right through my chest, and the feeling of it made me think the apartment underneath had a ceiling fan spinning. They don't.

Could a subwoofer be causing all that? Or should I look for another explanation? It's real, I've had friends stay and they've experienced it as well.

Thanks

The spin cycle of a washer or drier maybe?

It would be very strange for you to feel it and not hear it if a subwoofer.

Could also be a Refrigerator or a (de)humidifier or floor fan as well.
However I also would not rule out the sub just yet.
If you are on friendly terms just do an experiment with him turning it off and on.

Is this new?
Any clues to be had from when this happens? Is it 24/7?
Wee hours of the morning?
What about HVAC?

Laundry equipment? HVAC equipment? As was said, a controlled experiment with your neighbor using/not using the sub will help narrow it down. Apartment buildings suck in general when it comes to noise you can't control....

Couldn't get anything done with all the sex going on around you..?
