Outlaw Model 990 Preamp/Processor issue

I have an Outlaw Model 990 Preamp running with an Outlaw 7500 amp. For the life of me I cannot get into the configuration screen. At least not that I can see. I have tried using the DVI out with a DVI to HDMI adapter temporarily to a TCL 6. Whether using the front panel buttons or the remote I cannot seem to get a signal out.

I set the HDMI ports to "Auto" and manually set to 2.0 and 2.1 and never get an incoming signal detected. Also nothing on the front panel of the 990 for configuration.

I tried doing a rest as described in the manual, but still nothing. I am trying to get into the configuration in order to map out the inputs and outputs. As well as the speaker configuration. So far no luck.

Seems to work fine when using an Oppo analog out to the preamp for music listening. I plan on running only a 2 channel setup right now. But being unable to set the configuration and map the inputs and outputs is really needed. I can always run the amp with my Onkyo TX RZ-830 if needed. But would rather have a simple 2 channel rig in the living room.

Any thoughts? And yes I plan on digging thru the manual.

Thanks!

Kirk

I'd see if Outlaw still has some customer service going....but if a reset doesn't help not a lot you can do on your own I'd think. Good luck!

If I cannot figure it out today then the plan is to call them tomorrow and see if they can assist.

No real numbers that I can find for tech support. But Iwas able to find a solution for the video output for system menus. It seems that the OSD only works with the Video output on the 990. Found and older TV and connected it. Everything shows up fine e now.

Until you mentioned that I forgot about some complaints about how their support ticket system via email is mandatory and to some frustrating: https://www.outlawaudio.com/support/
Yeah, I was about to open a ticket but happened across an unrelated post in the Outlaw forums. If not for reading that obscure post someone side track a discussion with. I may have never figured it out. The processor seems to work fine. Still working thru some issues with the configuration for the sub outputs. And it still sees surround speakers even though I do not have any connected.

So it has an auto setup? Or how does it "see" the speakers or indicate such? Is their manual much help?

There is an auto setup but it sees the surrounds that are not there. So far I am unable to manually set them to "No". To be honest, I printed out the manual but only grazed it so far. Been working on the configuration during breaks from my on-going kitchen remodel. Lol. I bought the 990 and 7500 amp used this past weekend. Mainly wanted the amp but the price was good for both. I just want to walk the preamp through its paces before I put it up for sale. Also have a Model 950 processor that is fully functional but missing the remote.
