Hey guys,

Looking for advice on a decent very simple 2 channel amp with remote control for volume adjustment. Something like the Cambridge AXA25 but with remote control. What I'm doing is running sound from my TV to an amp, then two a couple passive speakers for a little boost in TV sound. It only need to have power and volume control. The simpler and smaller the better. I know I'll also need a DAC if the amp doesn't have optical audio input, as my TV doesn't have RCA audio out. It's hard to find a very simple amp with not a lot of extra features. I don't need Bluetooth because I have a dedicated music setup with Bluetooth incorporated. Any ideas? Thanks!

I got my only NAD amp cheap when it was on sale. Not sure how much it is in your area but they do go on sale once in the blue moon. Otherwise I think it would cost more than the Cambridge Audio's.

It isn't a beauty but I put it under my desk. That's only because I have too many amps. I did compared it with one of my separates that cost 10X more and they sounded the same to me, also measured the same by REW in frequency response (in room only, already know they are all flat on benches).

DACs are cheap, just pick one that measured well by ASR.

Thanks, I'll look into these.

This is exactly what I was looking for! Small amp, built in DAC, remote volume control... Thank you! We'll see how it sounds...
An alternative might be the Topping MX-3. You can find reviews of both at audiosciencereview.com....
