Mono price 3 monolith vs 3 outlaw 2200s

I’m getting ready to order an amp or amps for my speaker setup. I’ve searched but only come up with amp vs avr type of discussions....

I’m looking at either a monoprice monolith 3 channel amp or 3 outlaw monoblock amps to power my front 3. Which would be the best route to go and why? I’ve heard 3 separate amps are better...e.g. better separation, each have dedicated PSU’s, less crosstalk, etc....

I’m not sure how that all works or what it means in general. Let alone, how true that statement is.... I listen to a lot of movies at reference level. Music, not so loud but still, loud enough. Any help is greatly appreciated. Budget is around 1200 give or take some.

I'd say whichever floats your boat but I'd get the three 2200s because they're only $800 delivered right now. Even though that's two extra power cords to deal with. Is your source/pre-amp spec on crosstalk so amazingly good that a multich amp would make any difference other than theoretically? I doubt it.

I went with Monoblocks... the Outlaw pricing, especially on sale, makes it one of the best values in terms of w/$, hands down. Mine work very well and I've had no issues with them. I drive my Mains, Center, and Surrounds with them.
I can't really speak to the issues of crosstalk and whatnot, but having individual Power Supplies for each speaker is nice. Whether I need it is another story. ;)

I think if you need absolute pure power for full range 2.0 tower speakers that are more difficult to drive, I would get the “arc welder” ATI-made Monolith.

Otherwise, you don’t even need an external amp since the AVR probably has enough power.

So you think roughly 80wpc is enough with multichannel driven during movies? I’d like to try and get the most performance out of my front 3.

i have a hefty UPS. Reckon i could use the amps on the backup side incase of an outage? Or wouldn’t that be a good idea? Maybe just stick with a nice surge protector....

Bro, if you have the coin with Outlaw having that sale 3 , 2200 monoblock amps for 799 is hard to beat. Don’t know if free shipping Is included. At higher Volumes you will have better dynamics for sure. Remember it’s your hobby enjoy it like You want.

I would wait until Amir measured the Outlaw monoblock I sent him before deciding!
Just keep an eye on this thread:
It should happen in 2 to 3 weeks and may reveal a weakness or that Outlaw underrated these amps.
I believe the Monolith has been measured (it has here at AH, but I don't think the monolith 3 configurations has been measured yet).
You might give Outlaw a call to see how long the sale will last.
I have a Monolith 5 that has a kind of loud transformer(s). The Outlaw 2200's (and m200's) are good and quiet, so I would go with the Outlaw based on that, but YMMV!

Why would you need an amp on a UPS? You want surge protection get whole home surge protection....or unplug it when worried.

Yeah, I wouldn't hook them into a UPS. I do have my 5 in a high Amp surge protector, no issues with it. but it's mainly a convenience factor. One switch to kill my amps, and one switch for the rest of my rig. If there's a bad storm or any power concerns, I flip 'em.

Had two monoblock amps back in 2012, wish I hadn’t sold them off. I had to go back and look at the Model number they where UPA-1’s Emo amps they stopped making them.

Mainly for uninterrupted use during power surges/small outage. If not, it’s not big deal

Thanks for the link @KEW I’m headed over now to read on it! I’ll definitely keep my eye on it.

So, the wall my system sits on has a standard double plug outlet, 15 amp breaker. Will it be enough for 3 monoblocks (I’ve decided after reading the link @KEW sent) my tv, AVR, PS4, google assistant, and WiFi router... Without trigging the breaker?

FWIU You take 120v X 15amp and it gives you 1800 watts or so before maxing out and flipping it. That being said, i know the power ratings of the amps and my AVR which would be the largest drawing sources of the setup... But how much do they actually draw at moderate levels?
