Are there better speakers than the SVS Ultra Towers for similar price?

I wouldn't be surprised if the Q950's give them a run for their money in the Bass department.
My Q750's measure pretty much flat to 40hz with usable output to 35hz (attached measurements)

Feedback from Q950 owners is usable output down to low 20's but i haven't seen any measurements to back that up yet. I wouldn't be surprised if the Q950 bass performance is similar to the SVS Ultra towers.
Certainly not out of the realm of possibility. I've not had a chance to hear them tho by all accounts they're great speakers too.

It comes down to voicing preference at that point IMO.
The newer Q series are really neutral with a laid back presentation.

I'm really looking forward to hear some feedback on Triangles newer "Borea" line
apparently the bass hits hard on those and they're priced to sell!

There are always better speakers, if you have 10k and up to spare.

10k..? um, my Ultras only cost around 2k, isn't it a pretty big jump in money for better sound?

I don't think I currently want to spend more than 2000~2500 usd/eur. There is always a better speaker for more money and eventually the law of diminishing return hits.

What would 2 of the XTZ sub 12.17 edge cost? Dual 12in subs.
