Hi all,
I've started my own independent record label, and I'm using unusual equipment to create my signature sound. I now use ADAT, an odd but very popular format that uses high end VHS or S-VHS tapes to record eight channel multitrack or simultaneous digital recordings with sample rates of 44.1 or 48 kHz. I also use a 2019 MacBook Air for Logic Pro X and GarageBand recording. Here's my new equipment list, it's quite lengthy, so bear with me.
M Audio Octane Analog to ADAT Lightpipe/fiber optical converter, TEAC A3340S 4 channel reel-to-reel tape deck, Alesis ADAT XT VHS digital recorder, MXL V69 tube microphone, Blue Bluebird microphone, Apex 210 ribbon microphone, Shure 58 dynamic microphone, AKG Perception 120 condenser microphone, Stage Right Memphis Blue dynamic microphone, Shure 57 dynamic mics, Shure PGA 52 bass microphone, 2019 MacBook Air with Logic Pro X and GarageBand installed, Dell Latitude D530 with ACID Pro and Windows 7 installed, Alesis IO26 (for ADAT transfers and ACID Pro recording,) Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 audio interface for Mac, JBL LSR305 monitor speakers, TASCAM DP32SD SD card WAV digital recorder, and MXL 990 and 991 large and small diaphragm condenser microphones.
There's my whole studio recording list. Tell me what you think about it, and things you think might could step up my sound quality some. I already have excellent sound quality, but I want advice from the professionals.
Thank you,
Ryan

While your hardware is a specific choice hopefully for your environment/use it works well. Good luck, hope to see you as a major music producer one of these days!
