Can I run a Pioneer VSX-LX503 receiver with the main towers full frequency, and run a powered subwoofer as well?

Do you want to duplicate bass from the speakers with the sub (the double bass feature) or do you just want LFE coming thru the sub?

I want full frequency to the fronts (they are capable down to 20 hz), and run a powered sub as well.

Pretty much any avr can do that. It depends what you want to route thru the sub. Normally if you just set the speaker to not use bass management (i.e. large) the sub would only handle the LFE channel in content that has such. The avr has a double bass setting if you want both the full range speaker and content routed from the L/R speakers to the sub as well....see page 161 of the manual https://pioneerelectronics.com/ephox/StaticFiles/PUSA/Files/Home/SN29403470_VSX-LX503_En_180611_web.pdf
