Replacing Amp - Where In-Wall Volume Controls are NOT Wired to Speakers

I am trying to replace a 20+ year old Bose amplifier but I noticed that the six in-wall volume controls are NOT in series with their associated speakers. The controllers are wired solely to the amplifier (to slots labelled "Room #X Volume Control").

I am hoping to avoid re-wiring, but I can't find an amplifier on the market that allows for this configuration. Does anyone know if such an amplifier exist today?

Thank you for your time.
Albert

Thanks Everett for your quick reply. I've viewed this and similar amps, but, may be this is my own ignorance, I can't see a way to connect an in-wall volume controller to the amp that's not already in series with the speakers.

All the best,
Albert

The way we always viewed it was each zone as has VC, VC to speakers. Some very old setups have done the way you described, but not so much anymore. This is the direct solution to your problem, correct?

So Zone 1 from amp to VC to speakers, zone 2 repeat..

The do make 70v amps that work the way you describe, but seem to now limited to commercial applications primarily.

Yeah, I'm fearful that this is an old system whose configuration is no longer available. You're correct, the direct solution would be to connect the VC to the speakers, but hoping to avoid that and just replace the amp.

I hope :)

Obviously there are other options if budget permits that give more flexibility for control, ie universal remotes that work rf to it or ip based control, but then you can jump in price. Check OSD Audio for other options, as they have a few that are reasonably priced.
