Dear Forum Members,

In my house, I currently have a home theater system with 5.1 configuration.
Reciever : Onkyo TX-RZ830
Speakers : Bose Acoustimas 5.1

I recently upgraded the receiver to RZ830 and it supports Atmos. I desire to turn this into a configuration that can support Dolby Atmos.

a) It's a 9 channel receiver, how to decide between 5.2.4 and 7.2.2 configuration
b) Can I use my existing Acoustimas speakers and add additional speakers and subwoofer or do I need to upgrade to an entirely new speaker set?
c) any suggestions on atoms speakers for this reciever?

Thanks in advance!

A) 5.1.4 is better.
B) yes, but most would suggest upgrading entirely.
C)are you looking at IN ceiling or on ceiling? I used RSL c34e’s in my system. $125ea. Excellent speakers, but can easily use less expensive options.
