Yes they do.
I think the bookshelf is a better match with the towers than the dedicated center, tho I wouldn't be upset if I had one of those either.

Ehh I always thought the mtm center channel had two woofers so voices were more spread out : I didn’t know bookshelves were better but sometimes center channel struggles especially since a lot are sealed .centers often lack bass !!

If you are 8-10 feet away and nobody sits greater than 6 feet to the left of the mlp or 6 feet to the right of the mlp a MTM design will work without excessive lobbing. W(T/M)W 3 way design will help if you have people that sit outside that bubble. I think the MTM was a good idea but it only works on small rooms, I wish brands flooor for standers meant to be sideways for standing up. I’d rather have a massive for Sandra center then MTM that does not match with the Main front speakers.
My front speaker in my bedroom system has bigger woofers and tweeters then my center . Sometimes The center speaker sounds like it gets distorted in a high-volume

Yeah, the bookshelf I'm using has the same 6.5" woofer and tweeter as my towers. It's a very good match and can handle some power too.

Klipsch was either not smart enough or too cheap to put 6.5 inch woofers in their center speaker. So the 5 inches don’t sound the same as the ones in the tower speakers. I’m considering going phantom but it might not work

The 590's are only a few weeks old now, but so far they rock! I bought these after reading a lot of reviews from you guys and figured why not give them a shot

Here are most recent pics of my system, mostly components from late 70's through 2000. OPPO 205 and Technics SL-1210 are exceptions, purchased within last two years. For the most part, I use Airport Express to listen to music in iTunes wirelessly, although the highest quality sound comes from my usb connection between laptop and OPPO up sampling to 24/192. Overall, I am completely satisfied. My pride and joy are the pair of Sony PCM-7010F Digital Audio Recorders. I purchased those back in the mid 90's for archiving radio commercials which my advertising agency produced for its clients. At that time, before mp3, I could access commercials with the 7010's and copy for broadcast in not much more time than the time frame of the commercial. Today these professional unit only have a few jobs, stripping DMR from digitally recorded streams, although I have not seen any need for that function; and, they are sometimes used to send DAT recordings to my laptop.

The 590''s are too good. If they were wrapped in walnut veneer and had somewhat more elaborate drivers they would have cost you more than $3800 a pair, which JBL's new HDI 3600 series cost.
