Hello everyone, I'm new to home theater I gotta admit I got into home theater audios because of Bose but now I'm finishing my basement and building a home theater area as well as a wet bar and both are in an open space,I want the system to be able to play a movie in the theater area and music in the bar separately but also want all to play together for a superbowl game for example.I went to best buy a someone came to my house to "desing" a system, and this is what they offer: a 7.1marantz receiver,2 klipsch towers, klipsch center speaker and 2 surround back speakers, and for the bar area 2 in ceiling speakers all for around 4k without install. I like the idea but I've been looking more into it and really like the Def Tec. Bp9060 towers and definitively want atmos speakers as like the martingale Logan in ceiling speakers and some small por surround back. I've been looking and might cost about 4300. What are your thoughts? Thanks in advance
Klipsch and Deftech are fine. The problem with those systems is you won't get any deep bass. Those systems will be good to about 30 Hz and then fall off, and that means you would be missing some effects sounds. Instead of tower speakers, I would look into getting some real subwoofers with some heavier duty bookshelf speakers. For subwoofers, I would look into what you can get from Outlaw Audio, Hsu Research, SVS, Monoprice Monolith, and those would all be better than what can be had from Klipsch and Deftech, even for the same price. As for speakers, you will need some heavier duty bookshelf speakers to keep up with those subs, and some I can recommend are the Hsu CCB-8, Monoprice Monolith THX series, SVS Ultra series, RSL CG5s, maybe Ascend Acoustics CMT-340s.
For a receiver, I would just look for what you can get within your budget. The major brands should all be fine, Yamaha, Denon, Pioneer, etc, but if you want Atmos speakers, make sure that the receiver supports those height channels, since not every AVR does.
