Hi all
Just setting up my home theatre. I am using the Yamaha A 3080 receiver and Samsung Q70 TV. Cable box is Rogers ignite system. Connected all HDMI cables as per guide but only get Audio and no Video signal. Cannot use blue ray player either. Any ideas how to resolve this.
Thanks

Have you chosen the right input on the TV
And right source on the AVR?

Do you connect everything to the AVR or the TV?

Reposting from another thread:
On my Yamaha 2060 you have to go into a special menu to select 4K hdmi mode for the hdmi port for 4K (defaults at 2K) and another menu to turn on arc and hdmi control. Then at that point it will flicker until you use a certified cable for hdmi 2.0 on all connections. Sony UHD Blu-ray and Apple 4K TV and Samsung 4K TV play nice for me but they all support HDMI 2.0a spec so nothing complicated.

And reposting how to change hdmi mode:

Advanced setup menu you get to by powering off then hold straight button on the receiver while powering on. Then use “program” button to scroll through the menu and “straight” button to change a setting.

So things are connected to the AVR then.

Did you remember to choose the right HDMI input on the TV to view? (Like choosing a «channel» but for which HDMI input to show)

tv knows that the HDMI arc ( which is 4 on the Samsung) is being used. I can’t get the receiver to communicate with tv to view image to see what I’m doing

Does it flicker? Or nothing at all?

After hooking up you change the TV «channel» to the source where the HDMI from the reciever is connected ye?

You have checked the TV settings like snakeeyes wrote?

Is it a new hdmi cable? You won’t get 4K signal thru an older hdmi cable.

HDMI 2 input i think it was, or another if you tried non ARc connection.
