Welcome to AH. :)

Your question implies you may have an old amp? If so, is it not working?

What are your goals for the speakers? 2 channel only? Surround sound setup?
Do you want an audio video receiver?
Need more info.

Just saying amplifier implies power amplifier only, too. There are various units that include amplification....2ch receivers, 2ch integrated amps, multich avrs (audio video receivers as mtrycrafts mentions), as well as power amps. The NSF51s are 6 ohm nominal, 89dB sensitive so any reasonable amp section should be able to drive them well. Need more information about other speakers, your listening levels, distance from speakers, etc.

The old amplifier is OK only I would love to upgrade to receiver in the future maybe to 5.1.
But mostly for music.

If so, are you planning on using the Dolby pro logic for surround music with a 5.1 speaker setup?
If not, why get a 5.1 receiver?

Pick something in your price range 100 Watt receiver that can accommodate your needs to hook up devices. Start with Denon then perhaps a Yamaha.
