marantz 8400 no display

my display does not light up.Is there a fuse inside this receiver that would connect the display

Check the manual, the front panel can be turned off.
Or possibly you have engaged the pure direct sound mode and the front panel is also turned off, maybe a small red light.

The front panel off/on i think not but you need the manual to see.

If pure direct then change the sound mode which im not sure you can on the unit. The manual will know. Its the colored buttons on the remote if its the same as all newer marantz units.

i dont have the remote but there is a pure direct button on the receiver.The only thing is i cant see what it is changing to

There is no liht at all on the front, or is it just the display that doesnt work?
