There was a brief period when Luxman gear was rather 'pedestrian' but most of it is very high-quality gear. I've always loved the look, and today it's definitely high-end stuff that not many can afford.[/QUOTE

Thanks....I paid $ 325.00

What is the best RCA Jack rear input for playing music from my tablet .....phono or pre out ?
Phono inputs have a particular boost/eq applied (per RIAA standards)....use another input but not pre-out, that's an output.

I got the FoMoCo bit right off. Very familiar with that, used as much as Mopar to denote in which brand loyalty lies. ;)

Now the question is which model '69 is it that you have, had, or lust for? Mustang, perhaps? Shelby? Fairlane?

Seems that way. Can you pop it open and check for corroded contacts?
Yes....did that with the first one...contacts were pretty clean on the one I got today....but went over them with sand paper just to be sure.....still...nothing....there is a 14 day return on today's unit....so I can get my money back...they claimed it was tested & fully functional....just want to make sure I'm not over looking something.....maybe needs special batteries?.....or maybe just return it & get a Logitech / Harmony?

Two makes me wonder if the IR receiver (assuming the remote is IR) may have issues?

Just opened up one I got today to inspect & clean....one of the contact wire soldered connection to board corroded & broke right off....could not repair...sending back for refund....my first one has more secure soldered connections,....cleaned with light wire brush & electronic spray....was hopeful...but no luck....do you think it's worth my time & money to buy a Harmony.....or just forget about remote?

I meant on the Luxman unit itself, but with remotes that old I suppose it could be either. A Harmony might do it if the problem is in the remote. You sure you're aiming it well at the receiver's sensor? I prefer having a remote myself.
