Current setup
Denon avr-s720w
Front R/L - polk Audio monitor 70s
Center - polk audio monitor 60
Surrounds - polk audio monitor 40s
Atmos hight speakers - monitor 40s
X2 subs polk audio psw505

5.2.2 setup
All speakers set small and crossover set at 80
Brings me to my first question. Should I chang the crossover independent of each speaker example fnt 70s 40hz, center 60hz, leave 40 at 80. Thoughts?

Next question
I have to chance to get two rti a7 for a good deal along with adding 2 psw125 for 300$ would that be worth it?
Also I can get a Yamaha rx-v683bl

3rd and final questions my avr-s720w says it can support dolby vision with firmware updates. Iv done so and dont know how to tell if I getting it. My 4k Blu-ray supports it along with my 4k TV. Both lg
The Yamaha rx-v683bl says it supports it and also has a little more power. And says it has a zone 2 pro out. Would I be able to add a amp?

I think a better move would be new subs. I would also try to get those front Atmos speakers higher. Not sure they’re doing much there but adding a little height to the front stage.

Hey, you’re a diesel mechanic! Know where I can find a good low mileage pre emissions straight truck? 3126 cat gave up in my truck. Pretty sure it’s junk. Pushes oil through the exhaust. 2 gallons in about 2 minutes.

I know so good subs would be awesome! But I would be rocking 2 psw505s and 2 psw125s. That should be a decent amount of lfe. Eventually I want to upgrade to some svs. But for now I can get these 2 psw125 subs and the a7s for 300bucks

Neither Polk sub is much to write home about, I believe William has experience with the 505 specifically....and the PSW125 I don't believe is quite as good as the 505 (you're always essentially limited by the weakest sub). If you don't need lower extension and benefit from the multiple sub for mode smoothing, might be okay. You do realize the brand of sub doesn't need to match that of the speakers, right? Whether it's a good deal depends on what you think/want....

As to your crossovers, didn't look up spec as Polk usually makes it difficult but universal 80hz is a good starting point. Experiment, see if you have a preference.

My best advice is to focus every dollar towards subs first. I like the SVS idea but you should also check out HSU subs in terms of value.

I know I'm being hard headed here. But for 300 dollars I'll gain the RTi A7 towers plus to add to my already 505s a pair of psw125s is not a good call? And that one 600 dollar HSU or SVS will bake my system that much better?

I would have 2 psw 505 powered subs witch I'm sure are like 300 watts rms and like 23hrz EACH. Along with 2 psw125 witch I think are 150 watts rms and like 35hrz. Again along with rti a7s for 300 dollars!
But just buying one 600 dollar sub will make a big difference?

Imo? Yep. I’ve measured the 505 to start rolling off at about 27hz. It’s also not very linear, and it starts to sound bad above 60hz when pushed. Power ratings don’t mean a whole lot really. It comes down to speaker sensitivity.
Imo, the A7’s might be worth the money but the 125’s wouldn’t be worth much. MAYBE a small den or bedroom system.
FWIW, I am using a 505 as the 3rd sub in my 7.3.4 system. In my minidsp I’ve basically limited its response to be like 30-55hz. It’s pretty much a mid bass module and a pair of pc12pluses do the rest. The 505 is not even in the same league whatsoever, and it’s only in use to help smooth my response further, and add some midbass punch.
I’m not saying any of that to knock your system. Just to try and point out that once you experience real deep linear powerful bass, you’ll never consider budget subs. Ever.
And I still think you should move your front heights up.

You're the only one who can really say its a good deal for what you want to do. I do think a good sub is worth aiming at, maybe you're just more into quantity than quality at this point with your budget. There's nothing particularly wrong with it if it makes you happy and you think you got value for your $.

Thank you for acutely explaining to me why your aweser makes sense. Ima do the deal now to get th a7s. But the next thing I'll be doing is a good sub.
So on my sub settings should I have it set at 60? So they don't play higher. And let set the a7s at 60 up. Or even 40 or 50

Also what about the avr toss up. Keep my denon avr-s720w or get the Yamaha rx-v683bl.

I think you should look at it like you're getting just the towers in that deal. Any way you can get him to come down and only buy the towers? I'm with everyone who are suggesting upgrading those subs. I see it here over and over. Folks just don't realize how good, clean bass from a well built sub has a way of cleaning up your entire system. I went from budget subs (comparable to yours) to a pair of Hsu's and I will never, ever go budget for subwoofage again. I didn't realize how much the distortion was dirtying things up. Once you hear it, you will see what we mean.

As far as settings go, 80 hz for everything is pretty common and works best for most.

I think that's what I'll do. Get the towers and save up for a nice sub.

So on my hight speakers. Says there to low. How high should they be. I'd say the center of the speaker now is around 7' - 7.5' my ceiling is high
