My setup is in the mail right now, 2 Cerwin-veg XLS-12's. I still haven't figured out what amp/reciever i should get. Planning on adding 2 rear and 1 center speaker later on, all XLS series.

What kinda specs/keywords i should be looking at? This is a big step up from my old desktop speakers.

Wow. That is an amazingly vague question. So many questions come to mind.

Why choose Cerwin Vegas? What was the thinking behind those?

What do you listen to?

How big is your room?

How loud, or , how much sound pressure do you want at what listening distance?

Do you have a budget? Do you care about the budget?

What is the source of your music? (if its music you'll be pumping)

Better background = better recommendations

Somehow mail sounds wrong, too....can't imagine the USPS delivering speakers as large as these CVs :)

Mostly edm and metal. I was just looking for something bassy. It's a avg bedroom but I plan on moving them out side for occasions. Mostly source from PC and phone and yeah almost entirely music.
I've been looking at guides and vids, and I'm still confused on what's entirely needed to have this all run correctly and optimally make the most of these speakers.

Maybe start here and then ask questions....

Use an spl calculator to see what amount of power you might need for your desired playback levels and how far you will be from the speakers. The sensitivity spec on the CV site is stated oddly....assume they mean 2.83V at 8 ohm (1 watt). http://myhometheater.homestead.com/splcalculator.html
