I am considering adding my old subwoofer to my sound bar in my bedroom do to an upcoming upgrade. The sound bar does have a sub output. Since I will be connecting it to the lfe on the sub how can I set the crossover if the lfe is supposed to bypass the internal crossover. Or will the internal crossover still work? There is a switch on the the subwoofer for crossover in or out.

What sub do you have? Many don't have but a low pass filter rather than an actual crossover (which would include a hogh pass filter for the speakers depending on type of connection).

If the soundbar has a sub out it might have an internal crossover for it

Not knowing anything about your particular sound bar and sub woofer a detailed response isn't possible so here's some general advice.

Try to not use the LFE input on the sub. That way, you should be able to adjust the low pass filter on the sub..

Yamaha yas 108 with sub preout. Subwoofer Hsu vtf2 mk5 it does have a switch labled in for internal Lpf and out for avr bass management. There are no speaker wires from the sound bar to use the high level inputs on the sub. I was under the impression that the lfe bypasses the internal Lpf of the sub. There is no setting on the Yamaha app that allows crossover adjustment.

The Hsu "crossover" adjustment is a low pass filter and seems to have a separate switch you can switch to "in". The "subwoofer" portion of your soundbar according to the manual goes to 60Hz (but doesn't indicate if this is an f3 or f10 or whatever). I'd switch the "crossover" in and adjust the low pass to 60 to start and experiment up and down from there....

Mk5 has low level, which are not the same as a dedicated LFE input. It should work with the x-over setting set to "IN" as mentioned.

Yes, saw nothing in the Hsu manual about "LFE input" but rather just L/R inputs.
