Any idea when the sealed dual opposing subwoofer from Hsu is going to drop? I read an article that gave little info on its production and very curious about it. Does anyone have more info on it?

Its supposed to arrive sometime in Q4, so it will be late in the year.

Did you write the article? Did you get to hear it? If so what did you think?

I wrote a little bit about it in the Axpona coverage for Audioholics. Yes I heard it. It is a beast, of course. Dr. Hsu says there is still a little bit of work to be done, so it is not in its final form, but I will probably be reviewing it, and I am really looking forward to that.

I would like to amend that thumbs up rating for your pending review, please add 1 winner badge and three rock-horns... and gif of gene simmons doing that tongue thing he does.

I am looking forward to that review. I am a Hsu fan I own a vtf2 and very pleased with it. Could I add that as a second sub or would that not work because it’s sealed design?

Sadly the review will probably not go live until the spring. The problem is that the sub is coming out in the winter, and I can't test subs in the winter, so I have to wait for the appropriate weather conditions.

Mixing a sealed sub with a ported sub isn't ideal, but it's not impossible. It will take some placement and phase experimentation. I would strongly suggest taking lots of measurements with REW for different placements and phase settings to integrate them. Remember that the VTF-2 mk5 can also be run in a sealed mode, and it isn't half bad as a sealed sub either.

I haven't really looked up new gear for a while. I'm afraid I might want something... lol.
