It comes in as a 5.1 pcm signal and I up mixed to 7.1.4 atmos...

It was pretty dang amazing... this movie would be legendary if it got an Atmos remaster.

well, the movie is already legendary to many of us who saw it the first time in theaters !

I am glad you had a great experience. I recently added an Apple TV unit to my master bedroom.
I too am happy with the outcomes. Great audio quality that's pretty easy to accomplish.

Yes on weak 2.0 sources fire tv has lots of distortion.
Apple TV 2.0 pcm is always clear and distortion free
