REW, Umik, and Surface Pro laptop...no HDMI output

Am I out of luck because my laptop doesn't have an HDMI output?

I messed around with the sound card setup and there is no way to force output via USB (my Marantz sr5007 has both HDMI and USB/iPod inputs on the front).

I can get a USB to HDMI adapter, or headphone cable if needed.

I can't be the first to run into this issue.

TIA

I was able to get it working, used a USB-C to HDMI and it works like a charm.

Tomorrow I should be able to grab some measurements.

If I am unable to reach the 75db level calibration (from preferences screen), even with the AVR turned up to +5 (almost maxed out), should I increase the gain on my subs to get there?

I have 2 Sunfire hrs-12's and they start to sound like crap up that high.

Then when I run a measurement, most of the sub 200Hz signal is above 100db?!?

I am running a USB Umik to my laptop, usbc out converted to HDMI into the front aux port. All settings are verified and setup seems correct.

Also, what is the best way to see if adjusting the phasing on the subs is correct. I used the level call to find that putting one to 180 (90 at top, knob turned all the way right) and one at 0 (knob all the way left) actually gives a slightly higher SPL. Dies this mean I should leave my phasing 180 out?

And, outside of seeing the room curves, is there any actual adjustment that can be actionable without getting minidsp sub eq?

I know it's a lot of super noob questions but I am actually good with calibrating electronics, I just am day 1 new to this tool.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

First one question. What is the volume of the laptop at? Make sure it’s at full. Then try sweeping at -25 MV and see what you get.

I set the sound card volume to Max before connecting REW. I didn't think to check to see if REW adjusted the card, but I'm gonna tomorrow.

I have the MV set to display in dB, so I'll target -25bB on the dial as well.

I gotta move my rear sub anyway, so it'll be good to see the curve shift.

Tks
