Hey all,

I have the Polk DSW Pro 550wi subwoofer. It hasn’t been used for a few months and I just plugged it in and no sound whatsoever.

The unit is powered on (solid green light on the back, solid blue light on the front).

I’m not getting any sound from the AVR. I unplugged the cable from the AVR and tried tapping - no sound.

I tried my other sub with my AVR and its working fine.

I don’t have the remote but I’ve tried using the volume button on the back of the sub but it doesn’t seem to do anything.

Tried calling Polk tech support but their closed.
I opened it up and Everything looks good to me but I have zero experience with this.

Here’s some pictures:

Any ideas?

You have isolated the problem to the sub.

The amp has failed most likely. Make sure the wires are on the speaker though. If they are then it is new sub time.

Good luck trying to get the amp repaired or even replaced. Lucky I haven't had any issues with my Polk Subs, my Son has had two Polk Subs go out on him. There not the best to begin with, and although Polks customer service is good they just don't service those Subs they on my Son case, said they couldn't even replace the amp just offered him a discount on another sub. Best of luck to you. Oh he had their Pro Subs. Oh maybe open it up, I believe there is a fuse in it, may get lucky and find a burned-out fuse.
