Marantz sr7005 black out intermittent

Hi there, I have marantz SR7005 that i bought brand new few years back. It was great all these years. From last few days I am experiencing occasional 3-5 seconds black out every 10 minutes or so. No audio or video for few seconds and it comes back. I've tried changingall hdmi cables, hard reset it but no luck so far. I've also tried several things to rule out blue ray player or projector. Could it be the digital port on the reciever?
Appreciate your help.

Have you tried to use other hdmi ports, not just change cables?

I had something similar occur... they replaced the digital board and its working fine. Mine was under warranty.

I tried on all ports and it's out of warranty. Tech support suspicion is digital ports. How much did that cost to replace digital ports. Do you have specifications of parts replaced? Is DIY possible? I am not a electronics pro but willing to try.

Did you try the component video and/or composite video ports?

For now, my guess is that the HDMI board is on the way out. If you do a search you will find reports of similar issues, below is one such example:

I don't think it is difficult to replace but you may have trouble finding a replacement board and you want to go that route you need to be 100% sure which board needs replacement.

I think you are better off getting a new one such as the $899 X4400H, or $999 SR7012 brand new (might have sold out by now though). Those 2017 models are miles ahead of the 2010 SR7005 in terms of both features and audio/video specifications.

I like the idea of planning on buying a new AVR/AVP about every 5 YR or so.

If these things last 10 YR or more, that's great. But if not, just get a new one about every 5 YR. :D

yep 2 to 3 years before it's outdated.
