Does your avr require you first to confirm that a subwoofer is hooked up in the speaker setup menu? Did you try another cable?

ps is this a new subwoofer? what is it?

It does not require any confirmation,
My woofer is Sony ss-wsb111
I just do not know what to do
Frankly, I do not see where I can set the speakers

Is this a new subwoofer that definitely works? Or just new to you? Seems from a search this is an older unit. The amp could be fried if an older used sub....

You do have this connected to the subwoofer pre-out from the avr with a good cable? You had gain up on the sub sufficiently to hear a test tone?

Are you setting up the sub manually or using the avr's auto setup?

You have an output on the receiver for subwoofer (audio out / subwoofer). That sub is passive, no power. At least from what i could find on my search. So you need an amp to power the subwoofer

I hadn't yet looked at much of the sub details but that would be a definite problem :)

It's not new, but it's correct, it works, it's tried on another receiver.
I did not manually adjust, the receiver I bought yesterday.
Remote is not original.
I do not know how to set up I can not enter into Me

I looked now and it does appear to be a passive subwoofer. How are you trying to connect it specifically?

You mean the receiver does not give way out?
The woofer is good and works, but it does not work when connected to this receiver

As I understand now, this is a passive Sub.
And he can not work on this receiver, without the amplifier.

Receivers aren't the best amps for a sub one way or the other, but you would need an amp to use that sub (and that sub is not worth buying an amp for).
