So this is a 2-channel stereo question.. But I'm really digging on this amplifier. Is it too much for my Pioneer HPM-100 200 watt version speakers? Its rated at 225 per channel. Do I dare try? I have it hooked up to a pair of Polk Audio RTi-10 speakers and it sounds fantastic. I have an Acurus L10 preamp. So what would you 2-channel guys say?

Thanks

Hook them up and enjoy, absolutely no concern. If you hear distortion, turn it down.

The volume control is yours to use as you see fit, if it sounds bad turn it down. If you plan on many drunken listening sessions and like to listen at "11" then all bets are off :)

ps Speaker wattage rating is on what basis? Max peak or continuous? Melting point?

Thanks guys!

I got it all hooked up and it sounds great with no issues. High volume isn't a concern either though I would never run it at high volume more than an hour for sure. I believe my HPM-100's are 100 watts rms and peak at 200 watts. I'm having my Pioneer Elite SX-31 receiver recapped and new wire terminals installed, but have been trying to replace it with separate components for years with no success. I've had several combinations of amps and preamps and I have to say the Acurus L10 with the Carver TFM-25 is the best yet. I will plan on selling off the two once my receiver is completed and well broken in.

Thanks again for helping me brave the set up..
