Hi,

I’m wondering is it possible and if so, how can I connect two single stereo in ceiling speakers to one stereo amp receiver? I would like to have a stereo speaker in our en-suite (bathroom+shower) and one stereo speaker in the bedroom.

I didn’t want to have two monos playing left channel in en-suite and right channel in main bedroom.

Thanks

Dave

I think pretty much all receivers have a mono button.

Sorry I’m just starting out,

So I can hook up one speaker to left Channel and second speaker to right channel set the all to mono it should play the full audio source in both speakers for example one speaker wouldn’t be playing the drums or guitar and the other speaker playing vocals and bass? Both speakers should be playing the full audio in mono mode? If the amp doesn’t have mono mode what should I do?

Thanks.

You answered your own question without reading it.

Your in-ceiling speakers have two sets of terminals- connect them as stereo and you won't have mono anything as long as your receiver can handle a 4 Ohm load. Or, you can connect one to Speaker A, one to Speaker B.

The only way you can do this is by adding a speaker switch that maintains the load seen by the receiver. Anything else won't work because the required impedance is directly under the speaker terminals- 8-16 Ohms.

FYI- you connect this type of speaker this way- Left speaker wires go to one set of terminals, Right speaker wires go to the other set of terminals, just like any other speakers. There's nothing Mono about it- it's single point stereo.

Thank you I really appreciate the advice and suggestions before I destroyed my amp!

In that case you are stuck. You can NOT connect the right and left outputs together or the receiver will be instantly destroyed.
Thanks heaps that’s what I was worried about appreciate the help!
