Guessing there is a certain audio file that’s used to calibrate that? Not the static from the trim lvl setting on the pioneer lol.
No, that would be using the built in white noise in the AVR.

The weighting and response is on the spl meter/app.

Apps are often quite bad at measuring decibels though so usually better to trust the receiver setup. (Its not the apps themselves but the microphones in the phones)

I generally agree but good ones tend to be better than ear, and one thing that auto EQ’s do right is leveling.

Yepp so its good to keep in mind if double checking with an app that the receiver is probably the more accurate one. But its not foolproof.

Lol have to turn volume up to negative 10 now for 2.0 incoming audio to be loud enough,
Was used to Yamaha and 25 being the normal audio lvl lol

So running 7.1.4 with atmos front and rear height speakers,

Was wondering do get the most immersive experience what lvls to people generally set their speakers to?
My trim settings look like this:
FR +6.0, C +10.0, FL +6.0, SR +6.0, SL +6.0, FPR (front ceiling) +10, FPL +10, RPR (rear ceiling) +10, RPL +10, Sub1 +0.0, Sub2 +0.0.

My Parametric EQ settings look like this:
Sub1: 20Hz +2.0, 40Hz +2.0, 60Hz +2.0, 80Hz +2.0
Sub1: 20Hz +2.0, 40Hz +2.0, 60Hz +2.0, 80Hz +2.0

The Master Volume usually ranges from -25.0 to -30.0.

Bottom line: if you can’t hear certain speakers loud enough, increase the level so that you can hear it loud enough.

It’s not rocket science. :D

listening at -10 isn't really a concern one should have, either. ;)
:D
Agreed.

It’s about personal preference.

If someone prefers to have the master volume at -20.0, instead -10.0, there is absolutely nothing wrong with that either.

Whatever makes a person feel good. :D

Everyone is different. :D

Was that to say -25?
Not surprised. Your trims have been reduced by about 10db. The MV would surely reflect that.

How’s it sounding?

I did turn the height speakers trim up. To give a more over head effect. Have not put in an atmos 4k blu ray yet tho.

Did listen to Jack Ryan on Amazon

Welp watched the first Jurassic park in remastered 4K atmos,
I must say I’m very impressed, sounded amazing the heights really picked up the sounds of the smaller animals.
