I had a blast making half my house rattle last night.
I wish I could play higher quality sound on it than Spotify. I wonder if the Xbox one X plays CDs. Hmmmmm....oh, and I noticed there is another competitor for BluRay....Ultra HD is it? Ha, probably been out the last five years...

Excellent! No buyers remorse I presume?
I’d love to have seen your wife’s face when she first saw that thing.

She asked me what did you pay for THAT thing?? Lol. I cranked it, and she covered her ears. Hey, more for me, right?

Zero remorse, though I could not in any way imagine two of them in that room, window might would blow out.

I was jamming a medley of things last night, though, including a lot of Bob Marley genre type stuff. Man, it blended and hit me with such a huge and luxurious soundstage. It truly was awesome!! I wish sports sounded even half as good through DirecTV, but it’s clearly an even more inferior signal to Spotify. Shame.

I told my buddy my plans to add rears and a center channel, et cetera, and he looked at me like I was nuts. Lol. I had a blast last night with it.

I’ve had pretty good luck with Spotify sound wise. YouTube is what makes my speakers sound like sh1t.

Throw a disk in the Xbox. Make sure it’s one you know very well. Sink into the couch and enjoy!

My buddy’s think I’m nuts too but they love to come listen, and some even have their own systems. The thing is once you know, you can never go back...(RHCP)

Marley fan, hunh?
If you haven't heard him, check this out from his son Stephen!
I heard (and liked and Shazammed) it watching "Luke Cage" - he was playing in the "Paradise Club"!

So I was watching a movie tonight with my wife, got the big sub in the corner, was toggling back and forth between the sub and the two towers and just the TV volume to show my wife the difference. She was blown away. So was I!! Hahahaha, this kicks ass!!!!!

So much so in fact that I just purchased the SVS Ultra Center Channel Speaker to accompany the other ones. I presume now would be the time to get the second amp to power those front three?

You may not even need the amp. I’d try it without first. If I remember right you have the XO set at 80hz, that takes a large chunk of the load off the AVR and hands it to the much more capable sub.

Good to hear your wife is enjoying it too!

Wait until you get into surround and atmos... or if you go there. That AVR should handle just about anything you need, short of a full on war with all channels blazing! ;) 3 channels should be a cakewalk.

Like others have posted you'll only be running 3 channels crossed over taking a chunk off the load off of the AVR. That reciever should handle those just fine.

Hold off on spending on amps until you've ended up buying the best speakers you can afford in every position you plan to build the system up to say 5.1 7.1 9.1 etc etc get all the best speakers you can

Once that is complete then the general rule of thumb is to start taking care of room treatments and better electronics such as amps.

Basically get the best speakers and subs you can then you can decide the best electronics to use for them one of those being power amps if they are necessary

I did drop in on the other thread, but do agree with these guys. IMO, you should be able to run 5.1.4 with that4400 and unless you’re really running the system super loud you’ll be fine. Now, if you discover after spending some time listening that it sounds like the AVR is running out of steam, then you should consider amps. Until then, I would just spend some QT with the system. And impressing your wife! Lol.
