Setting EQ in receiver help.

Just noticed my EQ is all set flat so the auto calibration does not set EQ,
Wondering if there is any common adjustments to make and any really good mobile software or other software to use to get the system sounding it’s best?

Something like Audyssey or MCACC or YPAO will do eq but I don't think any of them display that eq when you look at the graphic eq (and it's usually an either-or thing, you can use the auto eq results or you can set your own manual eq).

If it sounds good, why mess with the EQ?

In general, most of us don't like messing with the EQ above 200Hz anyway.

Yeah pretty much this...

My pioneer shows the mcacc eq settings, and I believe Yamaha does too. My Marantz, and older Onkyo do not. The screen you showed looks to me like a. Manual eq station and the slides are zeroed because you haven’t changed them. You’d then have to choose between the auto eq settings or the manual ones.

And no, they’re aren’t any “universal” settings to use either. Every room changes every speaker differently so it’s basically room dependent.

On my Yamaha, I can manually adjust the Parametric EQ (PEQ) down to 15Hz.

I just EQ from 15Hz to 80Hz.

Ah this one only goes down to 63hz as far as I can see,
I have been told my infinity rc263 and rc163 and the JBL studio 2 series lean towards the bright side, so thought I could bring them more to the neutral side with the EQ,

You might do a lot more harm trying to do that than just leave it alone.

From my experience, Infinity and JBL are usually neutral speakers, not bright anyway.

Do they sound bright to you?

I wonder if it’s for one of the mains. Manual eq on my avrs allows to choose each channel.

In the MCACC it’s for each channel, on the app it does them all at once.
